Samuel Song – Senior Pastor

Pastor Samuel Song comes to Hong Kong from sunny Southern California. You may be able to pick up his Southern Cal accent when he preaches. He brings with him a diverse range of ministry experiences. He served as a youth pastor at Thanksgiving Church for five years and as Director of Campus Ministries at Vanguard University for three years, and was Tour Director of The Call, D.C. He pioneered a fellowship of ministries called the Fellowship of the Burning Heart, led mission teams all over the world, and was part of a church plant before coming to Hong Kong. God has blessed him with a gift to communicate His truths in a way that regular folks can understand, and he has used that gift to minister in over 30 states in the U.S. and in every continent except Antarctica (but he plans to go there some day too). He and his wife Lisa have three beautiful daughters, Elyse, Emma and Hannah.

Pastor Sam attended Southern California College (now Vanguard University) and Fuller Theological Seminary. He enjoys playing basketball and dominating in Monopoly.

Eugene Sim – Senior Associate Pasto

Pastor Eugene Sim has been at Solomon’s Porch since 2011.  Prior to coming to Hong Kong he served as a youth pastor for 10 years and young adult pastor for 3 years at Thanksgiving Church in Southern California.  He was born and raised in Wisconsin and is a die hard Green Bay Packers fan.  He received his M.Div from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA and graduated from UCLA.  He is married to his beautiful and talented wife Carol and has an athletic and musical son named Elijah who could be the next Jeremy Lin or Chris Tomlin.  He is passionate about leading people to live according to God’s Word and to be followers of Jesus Christ.  His significant accomplishments include being a former quesataco eating champion in San Quintin, Mexico, finishing the Long Beach Marathon, and finding his way home from Causeway Bay.

Nate Chung – Youth/Worship Pastor

Pastor Nate Chung was born in Korea but has lived in Hong Kong since the age of eleven. After receiving God’s calling to enter full-time ministry, he changed his major in university to Christian Education and served as an intern youth pastor in California for two years. He has also been involved in mission trips to countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Uzbekistan. In his spare time, he likes to relax, listen to music, and play basketball. Nate is also a gifted musician and worship leader.

Sophia Cheng – Local Outreach/College/Legal Pastor

Sophia Cheng was born in Shenyang, China but was raised in Hong Kong and Australia. She is a qualified lawyer and has worked in both Australia and Hong Kong. Sophia always carried a heart for missions, in particular for the nation of Japan. In 2007, God called her to be further equipped and she responded by undertaking a Master of Divinity at China Graduate School of Theology. She joined SP staff in 2010 and is now serving the Lord with joy. Her favorite pass time is eating (especially foie gras and Japanese cuisine) and listening to music, in particular worship music, jazz and classical.
